Inspiring the Next Generation of Girls

CCM travelled across Canada with Scotiabank Girls Hockey Fest to teach new players how to skate and puck handle. Parents and girls were able to participate in sessions to learn about gear selection, how it should fit, and what’s important when selecting equipment. The Learn to Play program, powered by CCM, was a fantastic opportunity for girls to get in the game.

Girls HockeyFest was designed to increase participation in the sport, and make hockey fun and impactful by providing a positive and rewarding experience for girls. Certain lucky cities had visits from PWHL players who were able to share their hockey journeys and inspire the next generation of girls to reach for the stars.

The Scotiabank Girls Hockey Fest Difference

As the founder of Scotiabank Girls Hockey Fest, where young women are given the opportunity to learn from top Canadian hockey talent, free of charge, Scotiabank is already a leader in supporting women and girls at all levels of hockey. Girls Hockey Fest is part of Scotiabank’s hockey for all initiative committed to making the game more inclusive and accessible by breaking down cultural and financial barriers to hockey.

Thanks to this partnership, 200 girls across Canada got to come out and try the sport, learn from the best in the game, and go home with a set of CCM equipment.
